AMAZONIAN SOLUTIONS
Having analysed the reality of the problems confronting the Amazon, appears quite obvious the importance of the integral recovery and conservation of this primary forest considered by scientists as the lungs of the Earth.
With a direct knowledge of the Amazonian reality, SOS amazonia-Accion Verde proposes a series of measures to facilitate that important goal:
- To secure the designation of the whole of the Amazon as an “Integral Reserve of the Biosphere”
- To establish a fund of International Cooperation in order to stop and revert the actual degradation of the Amazon Rainforest. This resource could be used to pay off all the families that legally or illegally are at present cutting down and destroying the forest until they can be absorbed in reforestation programs with the minimum necessary of the area dedicated to wood exploitation and permaculture techniques in order to facilitate the future economic independence of the region.
- The purchase by anonymous people and companies of an indeterminate number of hectares of forest with the object of preserved them. We will avoid the usurpation by multinational companies or small producers through the right of property. The entire territory thus purchased belongs to the virgin forest and so will remain.
- The establishment of a body of “Green Police”, with enough logistic, helicopters and resources to counteract any environmental aggression.
- The creation of special programs dedicated to the environment, ecotourism, ecology, permaculture and ecovillages.
- establishment of micro industries and programs for the exportation of biologic products maintaining the principles of sustainability.
- A large number of projects of reforestation integrating Permaculture techniques in which a part of the percentage is designated to biodiversity reforestation, another to silviculture reforestation and the rest to agriculture and livestock production.
- To achieve the celebration of a pre-congress and the Amazonian World Congress.
